Make Your Reality

I’m slapped in the face over and over again by life.   The same beatings.  I wish I was a faster learner.

Look at every situation, somewhere in there is, “What can I get out of this?”, “What’s in it for me?”.  The world is projected by the means that we percieve it.  The physical world does not even objectively exist.  It is a projection of this question.  If I enter a situation and need something from someone, chances are I won’t get all that I need and I’ll feel empty.  On the other hand, if I have a different attitude about what I need or why and then I don’t get it, the world is not such a crap-hole, the change in my perception changes my whole reality.

The physical world does not exist.  It is a projection of what we can get out of it.  The fact that we see it this way is a disguise…it is only our perception.

In conclusion, here’s a silly but clear cut example:  When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, if you were a homeowner, you were in a bad way, a real bad way.  All  of your possessions, your hoome, your job, your friends lives are all destroyed.  On the other hand, if you were the contractor who was hired to rebuild the city and you have a contract and a deposit check sitting on your desk for $25 million, your perception of the same hurricane is quite different.

Fear is a Dense Vibration

And happiness, feeling whole is an expansive vibration.

It’s way to hard to go up against life alone.  In the strength of being together, we can convince ourselves that the reality of harmony and getting along is a real reality.

We’re bombarded with the laws of the material, finite world all day, every day, at work, on the road, in our chores.  Ancient and modern science alike are revealing on youtube and TED and wherever you look if your eyes are open, that reality is consciousness.  As I see it, we all have seconds of this nirvana feeling a few times in our lives, but the day-to-day prevents this reality from permeating our lives.  However, when the people around us acknowledged this reality and It permeates our lives more and more, It will be our refreshed perception of reality, where there is abundance and fulfillment.

I call this an attack.  It’s not violent, it’s an internal effort to yearn for the life of your dreams.

One Man in a Master Plan

I found this pic and laughed out loud.

Here I am fresh off the road, to my grandparents pool in Florida.

Must be 20 or so.  Always with a guitar in hand.  Just writing, strumming, singing melodies.

It’s always been submersing myself in something deep and foreign and then reaching back to the familar and building a bridge.

Going back into the studio on Thursday to work on the Upper Light song’s chorus.  This one is going to kill.  Can’t wait to get it out.

Also getting the live band together.  Starting rehearsals in August for the upcoming live shows.  Hope to see you there!

And this Tuesday, I’m hosting a seminar with Mark and Dina on the arionline.info channel.  The topic, kabbalah and  specifically the benefit of surrounding yourself with people who share your goals, the power to create the better reality, more whole and less shitty feelings.

Who wants change?

I was 18, maybe 20 and used to fight with my father all the time.

I’d say, “No Dad, things are changing, the old way is leaving, there has got to be a more updated way of how we all deal with each other.”

He’d reply, “Things have always changed, son.”  And inevitably continue, “There has always been war and there will always be war.  Look back through history, there has always been wars.”

To which I would fight back, but I was outsmarted.  I figured that there must have been a time of peace.  I remember that hearing from some Hare Krishnas or maybe the Maharishi bunch that during the height of the Vedic culture, peace prevailed.  But was it worldwide?  Maybe I also heard that 2 or so thousand years ago during the Solomonic reign there was peace.  But does that mean ‘worldwide’, or just ‘region wide’?    -    Was he right?  Did it matter?

Regardless, when I wrote this song, I was going through a hell.  I wanted the house and my precious family and my dear friends, I didn’t need all of my outside to disapear, but internally, I needed a change ~  a bigger perception that fit all of my feelings into my reality without it always feeling so bad.  I needed a change and that is what I wrote about.

I saw a patch of  grass growing through a rocky hillside!  It just used the rock,
just used it for support, rooted in and grew – with little regard for the
hard substance. That afternoon I saw a cow eating grass.
Despite all the effort of the grass, the cow just ripped
it and chomped it.That night I saw a

Recently friends of ours in Berlin held a big event, a party +.  Haim and I composed this song to send over and uplift the vibe a bit.  We asked guys from all over to perform Jim in St. Louis, Gianni in San Fran, Paul in Boulder, Jesse in Austin, Charlie in San Antonio, Trenell in D.C., Roi, Danny and Gershon in Tel Aviv, Jaques, Dima and Tony in Toronto, Erez in L.A., Alexey in Moscow, Ben, Jose, Haim, Yigal and me in NY.  Come on your life is in your heart.  Come on your life’s about to start!

Give to Get

How the hell are we going to be able to take care of each other? As soon as we stop getting something out of it we stop giving. Everyone.

You don’t think so? Think about why you do anything you do. Search in every situation. It doesn’t matter if you are getting a great gift or serving someone so that you feel honor or respect or joy. We’re hardwired to chase satisfaction and run from suffering.

Taking care of each other is the solution to all of our problems. The world is connected – completely connected. Get this, during WWII, there were villages in Europe that didn’t know that there was a war going on. It’s totally different today. Everything is known.

Amazing night tonight at the studio..
Roberto finally was able to make it down to Brooklyn. Jose pulled up the new track that Yoni sent us and it was slamming.
The beat hits so hard, and Roberto’s lyrics are so on target!
Here’s a couple pics from the session. We’re going to work on the track for a few more days and I’ll post the mp3 here when it’s complete.
Big Love,
S
